We're happy to share news from our fellow Hazel Lam, who is currently travelling to Copenhagen, for her shadowing experience with expert Anne Mette Nørskov at Ørkenfortet.
Here are some thoughts shared by Hazel:
I was ecstatic to find out that I have been paired with Anne Mette during the kick-off in Lund. From not knowing her work to following her multiple roles in various organisations will take a considerable amount of time but I cannot be more resolutely energised by this challenge.
My main focus is to look into the ethical concerns as a coordinator and democratic decision-making practices within the various organisations Anne Mette represents as well as the communication between these organisations with other arts organisations and the Copenhagen municipality. The overarching theme is for me to gain a concrete understanding of the current situation on the interrelation of arts and politics in Denmark, a Northern European country where circus is at the dawn of being recognised as an art form. This is an important empirical study prior to the writing of my predominantly theoretical thesis. Some of my works can be found here: @hazelnocciolinalam
